Igbo pre-colonial norms and values as pillars for the sustenance of post-colonial Igbo society

Abstract

The thrust of this work is on engineering the pre-colonial norms and values, embedded in Ala (earth-goddess deity) to contend the contemporary moral decadency prevalent in Igboland. These norms and values which include, but not limited to; respect, hard work, kindness and hospitality, truthfulness and rectitude will be examined using phenomenological and comparative method of study to accentuate its essence in the 21^st century and beyond.
